The Zentralbibliothek contains more than 500,000 eida and is the biggest library in Hamburg. It is located next to central station in the former main post office. As a modern city libraries, the Bücherhallen Hamburg contain more than 1,7 million media in more than 30 languages. There are also games.

In September 2016, the youth-library Hoeb4U was opened. Besides new books, movies and series, there are games, music, e-media, battery chargers and a gaming area.
