Matthias Kempke

Matthias Kempke is author and game designer at Daedalic Entertainment in Hamburg, a video game developer and publisher that is specifically known for its adventures like Deponia and Edna bricht aus.

Matthias started as indie developer while he studied Japanology and wrote, drew and scripted his own adventures “What Makes You Tick” and “What Makes You Tick: A Stitch in Time”. After his studies he pitched his fairy tale adventure “The Night of the Rabbit” at Daedalic where he has worked now for more than five years.

In his works Matthias tells stories and connects them with different gameplay concepts. Currently he works at the gaming adaptation von Ken Folletts bestseller “The pillars of the earth”– he is also illustrator and team lead for this project.
