Life is Strange? – Panel discussion with Raoul Barbet and Michel Koch (DONTNOD Entertainment)

The second day of PLAY Conference will be opened with an exclusive panel discussion with game directors of Life is Strange, an episodic graphic adventure and one of this year’s most interesting games. During the talk with Uke Bosse, Raoul Barbet and Michel Koch from the French developer DONTNOD Entertainment give an insight in their work regarding Life is Strange. Particularly the emotional aspects like character design and storytelling, that are characteristic for the game, will be mentioned.
Life is Strange tells the “coming of age” story of protagonist Max Caulfield in a touching way and not only allows the player to look into her diary, but also deeply involves him in decision-making moments of her life. There is not much the player can do than to play with feelings.
“More and more Life is Strange transfers the player into a state of possibility. In such a way that you find yourself thinking about life, decisions that you could have made differently or that you could have avoided. For those you wish to have a rewind button. “ (Spiegel Online 02/2015).
The panel discussion will be in English.
