Demokratielabore shows adolescents how to actively shape society with digital tools. They can be journalists in workshops or learn how to encounter cyber trolls with arguments and occupy public space positively.

Demokratielabore is a model project of the Open Knowledge Foundation Germany, which is funded by the Federal Ministry for Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth as part of a project called “Demokratie leben!” and the Federal Agency for Civic Education.

Demokratielabore offer workshops for adolescents between 12 and 21 years of age including topics such as digitalisation, technologies, and society. They also work with youth facilities outside school as well as transregional education associations.
