Assuming theater is game, the rehearsal work means development of latitude and rules that evolve a conflict – staging of an experimental setup. Assuming theater is game, the premier would be the first trial, every following performance a repetition of the same game whose course and ending are open at the beginning of the game.

Assuming theater is game, “visiting the theater” means to have acted within the obliviousness of the game and to leave with the experiences of one’s own actions. Assuming theater is a protected space of action that enables the proving of utopias.

Is the reconciliation with myself an antisocial condition?

We will take a look at what is happening in front of the display. Game designer Alistair Aitcheson, JAM! member Beyza Öztaşkın of Aktion Mensch, virtual reality expert Katie Goode and podcaster Gunnar Lott will discuss the role of the actual game players.

PLAY Show will be moderated by Uke Bosse assisted by Gunnar Krupp. Musical accompaniment is provided by the Krachkisten Orchestra.

Both English and German will be used during PLAY Show.

The workshop “Bongo Controller” lets particpants modify almost everything into a controller.

The computer is a handy device – but its controlling has become predictable. With space you make a blank space, by clicking right you choose objects, with C you make a C and so on. We know all that. So imagine you could control the computer with bananas, by making a high five, petting your cat, jumping into a bucket of water. The possibilities are nearly endless.

The aim of this workshop is to create own controllers with absurd, funny and unique ideas and diverse materials. With these controllers, the participants can play different games.
