Where can I find the PLAY headquarters?
PLAY headquarters are at the Kunsthaus, Klosterwall 15. The place is within walking distance from the Hamburg Central Rail Station.

Where does PLAY16 take place?
The venues of PLAY16 are in downtown Hamburg. The headquarters are at the Kunsthaus as is the exhibition. Another venue is the Zentralbibliothek and the Museum für Kunst und Gewerbe. The Gängeviertel and Bigpoint are part of the festival as well as Hamburg’s Townhall.

How do I get from one venue to another?
Most of PLAY16’s venues are located close to each other, so that you can reach them by foot. Others are easily accessible via public transport (HVV) or by bike.

Where can I purchase my ticket beforehand?
Tickets can be purchased from our online shop.

Is it worthwhile to purchase a ticket before the festival starts?
As some events only have a limited number of tickets, it is advised to purchase your tickets beforehand.

Is it worthwhile to purchase a ticket before the festival starts?
Yes, indeed. Due to the limited contingent for the PLAY Conference workshops it is advised to purchase a ticket beforehand in order to secure your place in the desired workshop.

Yes, the PLAY Conference is a major part of PLAY16 along our various workshops, the exhibition, PLAY Shows and other different events.

Food and refreshment

Where can I get something to eat during the festival?
You can find plenty of shops and cafes in the vicinity of the festival locations. You may also get something to drink at the Festival HQ.

Since 2009 the Gängeviertel is an important place in Hamburg for art, culture and discourse that preserves the historic buildings and offers a diverse program.

The MOM at the Fabrique at Gängeviertel is a non-commercial exhibition place for contemporary art and the actual PLAY place.

In September 2016, the youth-library Hoeb4U was opened. Besides new books, movies and series, there are games, music, e-media, battery chargers and a gaming area.
