Andreas Hedrich

As the initiator and spokesperson of the Initiative Creative Gaming Andreas Hedrich has been pleading for the creative use of video games since 2006. He is also a member of the Executive Board of Mediennetz Hamburg e.V (Media Network Hamburg), a member of jaf e.V (Association for media education in Hamburg), spokesman for the GMK Landesgruppe Hamburg, Shareholder of the Media Agency Frische Medien, Project Manager of Computerspiel Schule Hamburg (Video Games School Hamburg) and many other media educational projects in Hamburg and Germany. He is also a lecturer at the HAW – University of Applied Sciences Hamburg and at the University Hamburg at the Faculty of Education where he teaches media literacy and media education. Concerning PLAY15 Andreas is responsible for the overall coordination and the management.

Arvid Hansen Díaz

Arvid is a computer scientist and had his first contact with the video game world when his dad brought home a 286 Siemens & Nixdorf computer from the office and installed Keen on it. From this day on the little boy was ruined.

At PLAY15, he is in charge of the technical & logistical coordination. In addition he assists Jakob and Karin to create unforgettable nightlife experiences!

There are many great games out there: Simfarm, Half-life, Homeworld, KotOR, Mirrors Edge, Limbo, Hotline Miami,…oh look the sun is shining!

Christiane Schwinge

Christiane Schwinge studied education, psychology and sociology. After her studies, she worked at several media pedagogical research projects. Currently, she is a network coordinator at the project BBS futur 2.0. Ever since her studies, she works as a freelancer in diverse fields of media education. As a member of jaf – Verein für medienpädagogische Praxis Hamburg e. V. as well as co-initiator of the Initiative Creative Gaming she is mainly involved in action-oriented projects about media literacy.

Togehther with Vera Marie Rodewald she is responsible for the art direction of PLAY15. Furthermore she is accountable for the PLAY-Conference. Her favourite games are B.U.T.T.O.N and Octodad, because they are equally stupid, funny and unplayable.

Christina studies English and German at the TU Braunschweig. Besides, she is an editor. Amongst other things, she writes at her blog keingame.de.

At PLAY15 she is responsible for editorial stuff. She has many favourite games, especially those that are creative or make a lot of fun like Terraria, Mirror’s Edge, Final Fantasy IX and Life is Strange.

Eric Rameken, born 1991, studies Media and Information at the HAW Hamburg.

At PLAY15, he is taking care of different graphical issues.

Farbod Mahoutchiyan

You can meet Farbod Mahoutchiyan at almost every small or big event. Whether it is media pedagogically important, live streams, ice hockey, cinema or games – you find him at every busy place.

As producer and unit manager for the PLAY15 trailer he turned on his charm to connect location, equipment and actor in order to bring magical moments to the screen. During the festival you find Farbod at the exhibition. His favourite game is Age of Empires II – The Age of Kings.

Jakob Kopczynski

Jakob Kopczynski is co-founder of the initiative Creative Gaming, member of jaf – Verein für medienpädagogische Praxis and lecturer at HAW Hamburg.

At PLAY15, Jakob is part of the festival’s administration and deals with the general coordination. Furthermore, he takes care of the organisation of evening events at the department FEIERN. Favourite game forever: Boulder Dash, followed closely by Pong Invaders.

Jan Krienke

Jan Krienke has studied educational science, German and History to become a secondary teacher. During his studies he has build the media padagocial project ComputerSpielSchule Greifswald together with some colleagues from the University of Greifswald. Ever since his studies he worked as a freelancer in different fields of media education and also as a lecturer at the Hochschule für Angewandte Wissenschaften Hamburg (HAW). Since 2013 he is an independent and voluntary expert at the german age rating institution for video games (Unterhaltungssoftware Selbstkontrolle, USK) and also for movies (FSK, Freiwillige Selbstkontrolle der Filmwirtschaft). Currently Jan Krienke works at the Leuphana Universität Lüneburg in the project HeaLinGO which is about health and language integrated onlinegaming. Since 2013 he is member of the Initiative Creative Gaming e. V. and designs diferent kind of workshops and projects to promote the creative, reflective and critical use of video games.

At Play15, Jan, along with Kathrin and Gunnar, is head of the department of MACHEN and takes care of the preparation and supervision at various workshops and advanced training. His favourite games are Gothic II, Max Payne 2, Fahrenheit, Cultures and Geocaching.

Jonas Ibel

Jonas Ibel, born in 1992, studies media and information at the HAW Hamburg. At PLAY15 he is responsible for the Creative Gaming Award.

Karin Liau

Karin Liau studied french horn at the “Hochschule für Musik und Theater” in Hamburg and sometimes still performs with the doubtless most beautiful instrument that exists. At the moment, she studies culture and media managament and still tries to find out, whether she wants to work in the music or games industry later on – she hopes to combine both areas some time.

She started as supervisor at the exhibition at PLAY13, now she takes care of the department of FEIERN along with Jakob and also manages the festival’s headquarters. A game that stubbornly stays on her hard drive, even after five years and several playthroughs, is Cave Story.
