What about the accessibility of digital games and can people with handicaps actually move without futher ado at the Play Festival enjoying the program? The youth advisory council will be at the Play Festival on all days investigating these issues by camaigns, interviews and self-experiments. On sunday the young people will present their findings and experiences to the audience. Morover, JAM! member Beyza Öztaşkın will be guest at the Play Show “Körper der Spielenden” on thursday.

As the word “Retrobörse” doesn’t exist in English we have to describe it. The Retrobörse” is a kind of a flea market for retro games. Discover your favorite childhood games, search for long forgotten consoles and find missing adapters for your retro equipment. The Retrobörse is open from 12pm until 5pm.

Note: The Retrobörse can be visited without a PLAY16 ticket by paying an entrance fee of 6 Euro.

Spiele in der Diele – Games at Hamburg’s townhall

The Bürgerschaft Hamburg, the Nemetschek Stiftung, the ComputerSpielSchule Hamburg and the PLAY – Creative Gaming Festival invite people from Hamburg to visit Hamburg’s townhall. Teenagers and adults can play and try games and meanwhile ask questions related to politics and games:

Do games deal with politics and democracy? Which digital games are about political conflicts? What are newsgames?

Different stations show the fascination with games and young gamers from the ComputerSpielSchule Hamburg explain their favorite games and ideas. The Nemetschek Stiftung invites everyone to play their game “Utopolis”. Visitors can play and discuss various digital games that deal with politics, escape, war, gender roles and more.
