Nominated in the category Most Creative Game are:

FUTURE UNFOLDING
Spaces of Play | GER/SWE | not released

Future Unfolding is an action adventure where you explore a forest filled with life, both beautiful and dangerous. The world is procedurally generated – each player will experience a new realm with unique secrets and puzzles.
As you explore the world you will encounter various animals. The animals you meet can be friendly or dangerous. Helpful animals guide your way and give you access to new abilities. Hostile animals will hunt you down, but without weapons your only option is to outsmart, sneak past or outrun them.
Every object in Future Unfolding is made of dynamic particles and can transform, move or blend into something else – even the ground. You can push through the trees in the forest, you can dash through grass to destroy it, and move every stone in the game. All animations are hand-drawn frame-by-frame and use our custom technology to create dynamic 3D shadows.

FRU
Through Games| GER | 2016

FRU is a puzzle platformer that features an innovative use of Kinect, in which the player’s silhouette becomes a “portal” between two worlds. Solving puzzles by strategically positioning one’s body, combining physical interaction with traditional platforming, FRU introduces new ways of interacting with a game. The game features four completely different chapters, all based around innovative use of the player’s silhouette, with a unique twist to each of them. In addition to moving and balancing the body to solve levels, players will also find themselves swimming inside a silhouette, striking crazy poses to activate contraptions, and awkwardly tiptoeing to avoid dangerous hazards!

THE TEMPLE OF NO
Crows Crows Crows | GB/GER | 2016

The Temple of No is an interactive text adventure made with Twine. A short game full of references and hidden details. Lovely graphics and great soundeffects complement the funny adventure in a temple with unexpected treasures and sudden plot twists.

Metrico+
Digital Dreams | NL | 2016

Metrico+ is a new world. A living world of infographics, driven by the player’s input. All the bar charts, line diagrams and pie charts react to what the player is doing. One bar diagram might grow for every step players walk to the left, while another could decline with every jump players make. One will have to explore Metrico+ and carefully analyze every move to see how it affects the world, and whether it will get one further. This mechanic is called “Input Morphing” and it makes players think about actions they normally wouldn’t think about.

FAR: Lone Sails
Mr Whale’s Games Service | CH | not released

Under cloud filled skies, the player travels across the seemingly endless dried-up sea, littered with the remains of a once vibrant seafaring civilization. The game’s world is largely devoid of life, yet filled with places to explore and history to discover.
While the greater goal of the journey remains to be uncovered by the player, urgent short-term necessities call for immediate action. The train-like vehicle used to travel the plains needs to be fueled, maintained and upgraded to master the challenges that lie ahead…
